Climbing the Search Engine Optimization (SEO) ladder isn’t as complicated as you might think. There are definitive rules and yet there’s a simple plan to follow in obtaining your goal…to rank above the others (well, certainly above your competitors) when someone searches for a product or service that you specialize in. So what is this simple truth, you ask? Give the people what they want! They want usable (interesting if possible), current content!

Gone are the days of spamming keywords into garbage paragraphs simply to ride an algorithm  to the top of Google search return. Taken along with the bloated keyword pages are the hideous sales landing  pages, and the creaky old HTML website than was created twenty years ago and never touched again. I say, “GOOD RIDDANCE!” and farewell  to them all!

Sorry, I got carried away but on that note, I must confess that in the past I was probably guilty of all of the aforementioned deeds… but not any longer!

Today, we are all tired of weeding through the garbage to find a decent article and apparently so are the “Rulers” of the internet search engines. All they want… all any of us want, is reasonable content that is relative to your business, service, or authority. So search engines like Google are moving the garbage to the rear and the good content providers to the front (or the top in this case).

So there you have it. Don’t create a website “doorstop” and don’t be lazy. Create something to blog about at least once a week…stay current, become an authority and you will find yourself exactly where you want to be… at the top.
